Dear Club Members-
Sorry it has been so long since I have had
an update. It has been what seems to be a
short but extremely busy summer but new
things are coming our way soon!! Our Pony
Express show is a show of the past. It was a
HOT and fun afternoon. We had a great time
in spite if the heat. I want to thank all
the wonderful volunteers that helped make
the day go smoothly. Thanks go to Scott
Dobson, Blake Skole, Karen Kemper, Gina
Murphy, Cindy and Harold Kunkel, Tom and
Lauren Peters, Mary Dobson, Sharon and Glen
True, Pam Payne, Kari Kemper- Hickam, Angela
O'Neill, Liz Goede, Colleen Scott, Myron
Engeman and the two who held it all together
Ali and Jamie Moore. You all did such an
amazing job and without all of you the show
would not have been the success it was. The
American Royal is right around the corner
and we hope everyone will come down and show
your support to the Arabian show as an
exhibitor or to just watch and socialize!!
There will be a ribbon cutting and
dedication to the new warm up arena between
the afternoon and evening performances on
the east side of Hale Arena( by the farrier
truck). |
We
would like to everyone to join us for this
wonderful addition to the Royal. Saturday
Night will be very exciting for the
"Spectacular". We have several special
presentations that evening. Make sure not to
miss the Western Pleasure Open class #67 as
were introducing The Burke Anderson Memorial
Trophy( a former GKCAHA and EKAKA member,
Steward, Friend and Royal Volunteer) and
watch the Hunter Pleasure Open Class # 73 as
we kick off October Breast Cancer Awareness
Month have chosen this class to be our
Breast Cancer awareness class and all entry
fees for this class will be donated to the
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research
Foundation. All the horse shows during the
Royal will pick a class to contribute to the
cause. We encourage all of that can to enter
this class so that we may make a nice
donation to the fund. Hope to see you all
there!
Nationals is quickly approaching and we have
a lot of local exhibitors making the trip to
Tulsa for a try at the "Roses". Just a
reminder if you are making the trip and want
to see finals night make sure to go to the
AHA web-site and order your tickets soon as
they expect to sell out. Make sure if you
can't make it remember you can watch the
show via the web which you can order through
AHA. Good Luck to everyone from the Kansas
City area!!
We will be having a resolutions meeting in
early November so come and join us. We are
your voice at Convention and without your
input your voice and opinions can't be
heard. We had a great attendance last year.
We will post the time and date as soon as we
get the resolution packets back and we hope
to see you all there. There is going to be
some strong issues voted on this year. Hope
to see you there.
Don't forget to get your points turned in

quickly approaching. Remember all points
must be sent to Angela O' Neill
